This class helped me learn more about money

Money Moves Student

I liked the Start Em’ Up business class because we had fun while we
learned. We played games and got to know our classmates better.

This is a great and fun class!

My son learned that a good product doesn’t always sell itself but with
good marketing and salesmanship it does.

learned something.

“I was on a panel for the BEAUTY (Building Excellence Ambition Unity in
Teens and Youth) program in St. Louis, and our discussion with young
ladies from the Adams Park Community Center was unlike any panel I
had been on before.  The discussion, ‘Everything that you want to know
about men but are afraid to ask,’ gave these young ladies an
opportunity to ask questions that they were not comfortable asking
their parents or teachers.  It was a direct conversation about how men
felt about women, sex, marriage, friendship and a host of other topics.
In my opinion, that type of exchange is much more beneficial than
having someone lecturing to them about the do’s and don’ts of
womanhood, without feedback on why or how.  Often times these
activities involve women instructing women, but this offered a different
perspective—views that professional men have on women.  It actually
gave them an opportunity to ask questions and get real answers.  I
enjoyed it as well as the students.  Workshops such as the BEAUTY
program are a clear benefit to our youth and young women.”

"The BEAUTY program is out of sight! I was able to facilitate a
workshop with the group and it was a great chance to role model,
listen, teach, and learn from such an impressionable and bright group of
young ladies. The ongoing workshops and sessions are great for their
personal growth and the constant change of activities is great for
stimulating them to understand that they can truly do ANYTHING! Ms.
Mills has crafted a remarkable program for influencing the young minds
of our world.

I was a panelist in the “Everything you want to know about women but
are afraid to ask” session of the BEAUTY program. I think it gave the
girls opportunities to address questions to young women who have
been where they are now. I think the girls benefited from seeing that
everything they are experiencing now, their fears and questions, are
natural things that everyone goes through. I think it gave them a
chance to get honest answers to their questions about self esteem, sex,
and relationships."

I was honored to serve as a panelist in the “Everything you want to
know about men but are afraid to ask" seminar.  The seminar was very
beneficial to the young ladies who were able to have their questions
answered in an open environment.  Young people need more forums
similar to this where they can be educated by adults as opposed to
providing each other with incorrect information based on rumors.

The “Business Etiquette” session provided the young adults with the
basic skills needed to conduct themselves professionally in a business
environment.  From giving a firm hand shake to maintaining eye contact
to creating a 2 minute speech explaining their skills, this workshop was a
confidence builder for young adults.  I was happy to share my business
experience and more importantly practice the techniques with the
participants.

I had the pleasure and opportunity to volunteer with two of Andrea Mills'
financial education programs:  Money Moves and Real World Survival.

While a graduate student, I taught over 5 sessions in the St. Louis
public school district using the Money Moves program.  I also facilitated
several interview skills sessions using the Real World Survival kit
program.

As a mortgage industry professional who has since facilitated one of the
world's leading financial services company's own financial education
curriculum, I have seen the importance of providing the youth with the
tools and resources to better prepare for their financial future.  I feel
that the curriculum designed and developed by Andrea Mills is at par
with financial education standards.

Financial literacy among our youth is very important.  Through
the seminar "Money Moves", Andrea has proven that it is never to early
to begin teaching financial literacy.

Miss Mills' program for kids was a great learning experience for the
students in our after-school program.  Any program designed to
promote financial literacy among young people is outstanding in my
book.
